...in the gamer department. I think she wins on the hotness scale. I'm at least 230 hours into ffXII, and I have four creatures left before I fill the beastiary, I have the zodiac and pretty much all of the great weapons/armor except some the the gilgamesh armor. I missed out on one piece and didn't feel like going back. And I'm gonna play the crap out of the Devil May Cry 4 next.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting there's this whole "gamer girls can't be hot" stereotype.

So I'm in London, and the exchange rate sucks, BUT class has been really neat so far. We got to eat dinner in Grey's Inn, and one of the Justices of the ECHR came and spoke to us for about 2 hours. I haven't yet made it to the British Museum, but I did see a bunch of London by bus and boat. Apparently the British Museum is basically all the stuff the Brits stole during colonialism, so it sounds pretty cool to me.

Anyway, I'm making pasta to conserve the moneys so I'm out.

things:

(1) the yehuatl, jaime's and my 20 minute musical, went up without a hitch. it went over really well with the faculty (and i think with my classmates), but, more importantly, jaime and i like it. so i am relieved.

(2) i am doing some kind of tech work for the lower east side festival at theater for the new city, although they don't seem to exactly know what or which day(s). i'll find out for sure at the meeting on sunday.

(3) a corpse in the kitchen, my short play that's going up in the les festival, is going to be cool because elysia () and noah were amazing in it already at rehearsal last night and it was the first blocking rehearsal so good. they're always great. i am thankful.

(4) i started feeling better last week but, starting late last night and so far today, i'm having some trouble again. i have moved up my appointment with my ob/gyn.

(5) school is almost over for the year. i am really, really going to miss cycle 17 (the class before us). i have a lot of good friends in their year and i hope i'll stay in close touch, but i suck at that.

(6) i am trying to find more paid work for over the summer. a check here and a check there rent does not pay. if anyone knows of anyone looking for a freelance proofreader or editor or something to work from home, please hook me up!!! (i have a poopload of musical theatre writing work to accomplish over the summer.)

(7) oof i need summer clothes but lack $$$.

(8) let's have adventures this summer!!! in september i enter my mid-20s!

... sitting in John's apartment listening to him and Andy whistle that catchy song from the car commercial. It honestly just brought tears to my eyes, as lame as that sounds.

At the BBQ tonight, I found myself talking to a man about my somewhat unconventional habit of going blind. One of my friends had apparently mentioned something about it and he had quite a few questions. What made the exchange a touch unusual was the fact that he's blind.

His questions were trying to pin down the feeling I get when my sight fails. Having once been a sighted person, he remembers the day that his blindness struck as a pretty horrific event. Therefore, he had a hard time imagining going through the experience more than once.

Having described the typical migraine attack to him, he said that it sounded somewhat familiar. Except, of course, that his sight didn't return. After a slightly awkward pause, he laughed and said 'but at least I got a free dog out of it'.

NARROW STAIRS = OMFG

this album makes my life complete, it seriously could not have come out at a better time. This band just dfhjdjlfshjhfd goes back to their old sound, I love it. Its fucking perfect. Every Song is amazing. Long Division and The Ice is Getting thinner are so unbelievable.

Get to see them in about a month
